Figuring Out Fluency in Mathematics: Moving Beyond Basic Facts & Memorization Recorded Webinar
Fluency is more than basic facts and algorithms. Real fluency involves reasoning and creativity, and it varies by the problem at hand. Facilitated by author and speaker John SanGiovanni, this interactive workshop will help teachers develop a deep understanding of fluency, including what it really is and what it is not. It will also unpack seven significant strategies that all students must learn and use. Assessment strategies for each component of fluency will be provided. Finally, the session will help participants think about effective ways to partner with families. A collection of classroom-ready resources including lesson seeds, games, and routines will be provided.
