The Maryland Council for Social Studies (MDCSS) and the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) are pleased to announce a fall workshop on teaching current and contested issues in the Prek- 12 classroom. Join us virtually on October 15 from 9:00 - 10:30 am to learn about research based practices for including discussion in the social studies classroom.
This is a FREE workshop, however we encourage you to support the MD Council for Social Studies by joining for the very low rate of $20 at: www.MDCSS.org . This will ensure you get updates of workshops like these and other social studies related news/opportunities.
While educators are welcome to join the session of their choice, Dr. Diana Hess will be addressing her workshop to educators in the secondary level and Dr. Katy Swalwell will be focusing on her research with young learners in grades Prek - 5.
