2018 East Side Regional Hob Nob Candidates

The “East Side Regional Hob Nob'" Central Florida's premier event of the election season is scheduled for Monday, July 9, 2018, on the University of Central Florida campus at the Fairwinds Alumni Center from 5:00–8:30pm. This regional event will include a two county “Straw Poll” courtesy of the Seminole & Orange County Supervisors of Elections Offices, appearances from candidates running for federal, state and local offices, a BBQ dinner provided by Sonny's BBQ, and a variety of complimentary beverage selections. Attendees will be able to vote in a Straw Poll Election for Orange and Seminole County. Registered candidates will receive a booth space, including a 6’ table, two chairs, two tickets to the event, and the opportunity to mingle with voters from across Central Florida, for only $225. Admission for the Hob Nob will be $20 presale or $25 at the gate. Corporate ticket packages of 10 are also available for $180.

Any returned payment will be assessed a $25.00 fee. Any unsuccessful electronic transaction is subject to a $10.00 processing fee. MSI is not responsible for any bank fees incurred by Customer. The Hob Nob Committee (hereinafter “Committee”) will approve all applicants. Once you locate your booth and pay for it, it will be submitted to the Chamber Staff and Hob Nob Committee for approval. The Committee reserves the right to move candidates if there is a possible conflict in location (i.e. two candidates running in the same race are placed next to each other)

Candidates who have purchased a table are given two tickets for attendance to be used for either the candidate and one campaign worker, or two campaign workers. No other campaign workers will be admitted to the event without the purchase of additional tickets.

Shared candidate tables are not allowed. There are no refunds for table reservations.

There will be two ballot styles, an Orange County ballot and a Seminole County ballot. Ballot style can be chosen by the voter at the election area after the voting ticket is taken.

Candidates who have purchased a candidate’s table will be introduced and allowed to introduce themselves and what race they are running in. Each candidate will only be introduced once. There will be a moderator to enforce time limits. The targeted time for candidate introductions is 6:30 p.m. You will be given specific information as to your scheduled introduction time upon check-in.

SET-UP: All exhibitors must be set up no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018. No booth may be dismantled prior to 8:30 p.m. Violators of this rule may be banned from future events. Booths must be completely dismantled and removed by 9:00 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018. Any exhibit or part of an exhibit left in the exhibit area after 9:00 p.m. will be removed and the cost of the removal will be borne by the booth exhibitor. Any person(s) used to remove such material will assume no responsibility for loss or damage to materials.

SIGNS: Space to hang signs will not be provided. You may bring your own material to hang behind your table (without interfering with another exhibitor, booth and/or venue) and/or you may hang a sign from your table (without interfering with another exhibitor, booth and/or venue) all yard signs must be picked up by 9:00pm on July 9, 2018. Any remaining signs left at the venue after 9:00pm will be disposed of at the expense of the candidate. Any person(s) used to remove such material will assume no loss or responsibility for loss or damage to materials.

SOLICITATION: All petitioning must be done from the exhibitor’s booth. Exhibitors are NOT ALLOWED to walk around, inside or outside the venue with items or literature. If this occurs, the exhibitor will be asked to cease such actions. If a second occurrence is noted, the exhibitor will be expelled from the event.

LIVE ANIMALS ARE NOT PERMITTED: Only service animals are permitted at the venue.

EXPULSION: The Committee reserves the right to expel any exhibitor who refuses to comply with the above-mentioned Rules and Regulations. Such exhibitors will forfeit all fees.
