Billing and Payment
Billing and payment processing for Businesses' events is performed by Member Solutions, Inc. ("MSI"), and this contract is specifically assigned to MSI for all such purposes. Customer knowingly and irrevocably authorizes MSI to charge electronically Customer's bank account and/or credit card for any and all amounts due for Customer's, and anyone registering under Customer's, attendance and participation in the Event. Please note, you may see all or any portion of the following on your bank or credit card statement: "MSI*JEWISHCOMMUNITYOFAMH 8882448044 ONLINE REG FEE". Any returned payment will be assessed a $25.00 fee. Any unsuccessful electronic transaction is subject to a $10.00 processing fee. MSI is not responsible for any bank fees incurred by Customer. Registration Process:

STEP 1) Fill out this form completely to register all of your campers. A non-refundable $150 deposit per camper is due with your registration.

If you are registering more than one camper: after completing info for camper one, click the prompt to 'register another camper' at the bottom of the 'Campership Fund' section. 

STEP 2) Look for a confirmation email from the JCA.

STEP 3) Download, complete and submit the waiver packet from your confirmation email and send to: Camp Shemesh / 742 Main St. / Amherst, MA 01002.

STEP 4) Pay your balance by June 1, 2017. 

*NOTE: If you have already registered and wish to add or change your session(s), please use our online add/change form. Do not fill out a new registration. THANK YOU!



Each one-week session costs $300 per week for JCA members and $375 per week for non-members.
 
*The Harold Grinspoon Foundation has provided a generous gift to subsidize camp fees with a contribution of $50 per camper per session. This amount will be deducted from your balance AFTER registration. Your registration here will still show the full amount. 



A note on deposits and balance payments: 
  • No spot is reserved without a deposit, even if you are applying for campership aid.
  • You may pay in full when registering.
  • Payments may be made online via PayPal at this link: http://j-c-a.org/shemesh-payment.html
  • OR - pay by check to Camp Shemesh, 742 Main St, Amherst, MA 01002. In the memo line write camper/s name/s and "deposit" or "balance".
  • If a balance is remaining, it must be paid by June 1, 2017.

Right to Review Camp Policies:

Any parent has the right to request the full camp policies on: background checks, healthcare, discipline, and grievance procedures. Please contact the JCA office to request a full copy of any of these policies.

Photo Release:

May Camp Shemesh use photos taken of your camper or family (without names or other identifying information) for camp publicity, our website, and for grant funders?

Directory Release:

Camp Shemesh gives all participating families a directory with contact information to facilitate carpooling and communication. Do we have permission to list your contact information in our directory?

Release from Liability, Indemnification Agreement and Covenant Not to Sue:

In consideration for use of the facilities and program at Camp Shemesh (and Hampshire College), I COVENANT NOT TO SUE and agree to INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS The Jewish Community of Amherst (and Hampshire College), its agents and employees from any and all causes of action, claims, demands, losses or costs of any nature whatsoever arising out of, or in any way relating to, my child's participation in Camp Shemesh (and the use of Hampshire College facilities). I hereby certify that I have full knowledge of the nature and extent of risks inherent in Camp Shemesh and the use of Hampshire College Facilities, and that I am voluntarily assuming all risks, whether known or unknown. I further understand that the terms of this agreement are legally binding and I certify that I am signing this agreement after having carefully read and understood the same, of my own free will.

Camper Information: 


Sessions:

We offer 6 one-week sessions, split into 3 two-week programmatic themes. We encourage families to sign their campers up for both weeks of a theme in order to get the maximum educational and social experience. We also strongly encourage our youngest campers (first and second graders) to attend two consecutive weeks the first time they come to camp. This helps them to better adjust to the camp routines, camp culture and people.

Special Considerations:

Please carefully read the following three questions and use this opportunity to provide important information for each camper.

The questions cover the following areas:
  • food allergies
  • environmental and medical allergies
  • medical conditions
  • other information that you wish to provide, i.e., short-term or long-term challenges and needs your child may have that we should know about to make camp a successful environment. Please note that if your camper has a one-on-one at school, you must contact Camp Director Cara Michelle Silverberg at cara@j-c-a.org to discuss.

Campership Fund

We try our very best to make camp affordable for all families.  To achieve this goal, each year we give out approximately $5,000 in campership aid.

I would like to make a tax-deductible contribution to the campership fund so that every child who wishes to attend camp will be able to join us!

Please indicate the amount of your contribution in the space provided. Any amount is greatly appreciated.

Note that your scholarship fund contribution will not be included in your camp registration total, but will be kept separate for tax-reporting purposes.
