The South Charlotte Sports Report is proud to organize and host the 1st Annual Baseball and Softball Skills Day with the Stars to raise money for two causes dear to our hearts. The inspiration for this event is Eli Shenise, a Community House Middle School student and baseball player that was diagnosed with Leukemia earlier this spring. Through his fight to beat the disease, the rallying call of SheniseStrong was born. The Skills Day will benefit Eli and the SheniseStrong Fund.
Another benefactor of the event is the Levine Children's Hospital and their Childhood Cancer Research via the Adam Faulk Tanksley Chomp Childhood Cancer Foundation. Three Year old Adam Tanksley was diagnosed in 2008 with Stage IV Anaplastic Wilms’ Tumor, an extremely rare
childhood kidney cancer with unfavorable history – just a 30% estimated
cure rate and 80% relapse probability.
Adam has been cancer free now for almost six years and played baseball across the South Charlotte area until his family moved to Greenville, SC this past winter.
Eli and Adam's love for the game of baseball has inspired me to organize this special event on November 8th at Olde Providence Elementary School.
With the help of many volunteers, we will offer a unique day for baseball and softball players to pick up tips from area professional baseball players, college baseball and softball players and local high school players and coaches that have volunteered their time.
Please sign up below to help us in one of our needed areas. Without the help of friends and supporters of these two young men, we would not be able to hold this event.
I have two time periods set up below to choose from, if you cant do the full period, its ok, we are thankful for any time you can give
