TreePhilly is a program of Philadelphia Parks & Recreation that directly engages property owners, businesses and neighborhood residents to improve their communities by planting and maintaining trees. TreePhilly continues Parks & Recreation's ongoing commitment to greening Philadelphia and supports both the City's Greenworks Philadelphia plan and the regional Plant One Million campaign. The Yard Tree Program is a partnership between Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Wells Fargo and the Fairmount Park Conservancy.
 
Through TreePhilly's Yard Tree Program, Philadelphia residents can receive up to two FREE trees per address! Use this online form to pre-register for your trees and choose which pick up event you can attend. At each pickup event there will be experts present to help you choose which type of tree is best for your location, and to teach you how to plant and care for your new trees so you can take them home and plant them yourself. This program is for private yard trees only (front, back and side yards). If you are interested in a street tree for the sidewalk outside of your property, please visit www.treephilly.org for more information.
 
In order to receive a free tree through the Yard Tree Program, you must pledge to the following:

• I am a resident and property owner in Philadelphia
• I will plant my tree in the ground (not in a container) within 15 days of receipt at the address listed above.
• I will plant my tree on my private land, and not in the sidewalk along the street.
• In order to ensure the survival of my tree:
- I agree to water my tree (20 gallons a week) from March through December for two years.
- I will protect my tree from damage by pets, lawn mowers and other hazards.
• I agree to allow TreePhilly to contact me for follow-up information about my tree.
• I realize that receiving a tree through the Yard Tree Program does not guarantee its survival, and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation is not required to supply a replacement tree should my tree die.
