13/14 Learn to Skate and Mini-Mite Registration


Learn to Skate!
The Learning Lakers is a “learn to skate” program with an emphasis on skating skills.
Each Session Includes:

- 1 Hour of on-Ice Instruction per Week
- Games and fun activities and/or scrimmages
- Skating Skills
- Stride Development
- Fun-filled Drills to encourage the Child’s Love for the Game

Required equipment includes:
· Hockey Skates with nylon laces
· Helmet – HECC approved helmet and face mask with side and chin straps
· Elbow pads
· Shin pads
· Hockey or ski gloves

Recommended - In addition to the required equipment, hockey pants are also recommended for all Learn to Skate players.
Session 1 Dates will be:
Nov. 9, 16, 23, 30
Dec. 7, 14, 21
Session 2 Dates will be
Jan. 4, 11, 18, 25
Feb. 1, 8, 15


Mini-Mites (instructional hockey)! Starts October 14th
The Little Lakers’ program is designed as a “Learn to Play Hockey” or “Intro to Mites” program. The Little Lakers’ is a program shaped to help young players prepare to enter the Mite league. The program is for young players that have completed a “learn to skate” program and can now continue on with their skating development while learning the skills necessary to play hockey. Players may be divided into “Teams” at the discretion of the coaching staff.

Each Session Includes:

On-Ice Instruction per Week
Short Scrimmages or other competitive games
Skating Skills
Stick Handling, Passing and Shooting Skills
Stride Development
Fun-filled Drills with a games approach to learning in order to encourage the Child’s Love for the Game

Required equipment includes:
Hockey Skates with nylon laces
Helmet – HECC approved helmet and face mask with side and chin straps
Shin pads with Velcro shin pad fasteners
Warm-up pants or sweat pants large enough to fit over shin pads
Elbow pads
Hockey gloves
Hockey stick and tape (when coach directs)
Hockey pants
Shoulder pads
Protective supporter
The Mini Mite Season will begin October 14th and practice as follows:
Monday's only starting Oct 14th from 5:00-5:55pm
Saturday's (10:50-11:50) and Monday's (5:00-5:55) starting Nov. 9th until Feb
17th.

Costs..
$ 75.00 - Learn To Skate when sigining up for both sessions or
$50.00 per session

$400.00 Mini Mite Registration

The cost of the programs will be due at time of registration.

Participation Agreement Release Of Liability Waiver Of Claims And Assumption Of Risk
 
By agreeing to these terms you may be waiving certain legal rights including the right to sue.
 
TO: The Arena (Arena) and the Lakes Region Youth Hockey Association (Association) and their owners, officers, directors, agents, employees and / or representatives Assumption Of Risk: I am aware that ice hockey and ice skating involve certain inherent risks, dangers and hazards which can result in serious personal injury of death. I am also aware that ice skating arenas contain potential dangers to the ice skating public. As such, I hearby freely agree to assume and accept any and all known and unknown risks of injury while participating in ice skating and hockey activities. I further recognize and acknowledge that the risks inherent in the sport of ice skating can be greatly reduced by taking lessons, abiding by the Skater Responsibility Code (now known as “Your Responsibility Code”) and using common sense.
 
Release and Waiver Of Claims Agreement: In consideration of allowing me to participate in the League’s ice hockey and skating activities at the Laconia Ice Arena and in other arenas, I hearby agree as follows: 1. To Waive Any And All Claims that I have or may in the future have against the Arena and/ or League resulting from the League’s activities at the Arena or other arenas. 2. To Release the Arena from any and all liability for any loss, damage, injury or expense that I may suffer, or that my next of kin may suffer as a result of my participation in the activity described in this Agreement due to any cause whatsoever, including negligence or breach of contract on the part of the Arena and/ or League in the operation, supervision, design, or maintenance of the Arena.
 
Arbitration: In further consideration of allowing me to participate in the League’s ice skating and ice hockey activities in the Arena and other arenas, I hearby agree to submit to binding arbitration any and all claims which I believe I may have against the Arena / and or the League arising from the League’s activities at the Arena. The arbitration shall be pursuant to the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitrators shall apply the Federal Rules of Evidence to all proceedings. Arbitration shall be commenced within one (1) year from the date on which any alleged claim first arose. Further, the arbitration shall be held in the town where the Arena is located, unless otherwise mutually agreed to by all the parties. The submission to the American Arbitration Association shall be unlimited and the arbitration award may be enforced by any court of competent jurisdiction.
 
Binding Effect Of Agreement: In the event of my death or incapacity, this agreement shall be effective and binding upon my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, assigns and representatives. Entire Agreement: In entering into this Agreement, I am not relying upon any oral or written representations other than what is set fourth in the Agreement.
 
I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS AGREEMENT AND I AM AWARE THAT BY CHECKING BELOW I AM WAIVING CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE THE ARENA AND THE LEAGUE.
